Modelling dispersion of scalar quantities in turbulent and two-phase flows
The flux of passive scalar quantities were calculated for a short dispersion time in homogeneous flow and for steady transport process when the mean square fluctuating velocity varied with distance from the source. The calculations were carried out using the model taking the probability distribution of fluctuating velocity and the time scale of the random motions of fluid elements into account. The gradient transport models used previously were examined and new relationships between mass flux and concentration gradient were proposed.
