Modelling of local heat transfer in a jacketed slender agitated vessel
Theoretical model is proposed to calculate the local heat transfer coefficient alpha which depends on the friction coefficient f on the wall. The model was verified basing on the experimentally determined distributions of the coefficient alpha at the vertical wall of a slender jacketed vessel. The distributions of the friction coefficient were measured using the electrochemical method. Theoretical and thermal measurement results for mechanically agitated liquid and gas-liquid system are consistent.
