Modeling of deposition of solid particles in the bifurcation of human tracheobronchial tree
Simulations of air flow and deposition of solid particles in the bifurcation of human bronchial tree has been provided. The respiratory curves corresponding to chosen normal and pathological cases of breathing were used. Structures of gas flow, concentration profiles of aerosol particles and "hot spots" of deposition are presented as the results of calculations. Strong circulations of the gas flow were observed at the transition from inspiration to expiration of breathing cycle.
