The modelling of the separation of emulsions
The scope of the paper was to propose the model, which allows to predict the separation of phases in emulsion. The model is based on available equation used for predictions of coalescence of liquid droplets [1]. Assumptions were made to modify the existing dependence to allow to predict the phases separation as a results of creaming, flocculation and coalescence. The model was tested using experimental data concerning separations of kerosene/water emulsions with different emulsifying agents. The values of the model parameters were obtained and their dependencies on the kerosene concentrations was analyzed.
