Modeling of air flow field in a cocurrent spray drying tower
The paper describes the preliminary CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis of the airflow and temperature fields in a cocurrent spray-drying tower. A standard software package Fluent v5.03 was used to determine local velocity and temperature profiles in the dryer. Heat losses to the ambient were taken into account. The comparison of theoretical and experimental results shows good agreement.
