The effect of mass transfer on the heat transfer at falling film evaporation of binary mixture
The effect of mass transfer on heat transfer coefficient in evaporation of binary mixtures was investigated. Tests were carried out of three binary mixtures (methanol-water, isopropanol-water, methanol-isopropanol) at the heat flux from 6 to 31 kW/m(2) and film Reynolds numbers from 600 to 2300. The analysis of the results indicates significant reduction of heat transfer coefficient. The calculation results based on the model taking into account the mass transfer resistance in a liquid film were compared with experimental data at satisfactory agreement.
