Quantification of fluidized bed drying kinetics in batch apparatus
The complete mathematical model describing adiabatic periodic drying in a fluidized bed has been presented. The model comprises equations for the first and second period of drying. On the basis of the derived equations it is possible to compute changes of the moisture and temperature of the solid particles and gas phase. In this way the time of drying can be determined. Some representative results of digital simulation as well as experimental verification of the proposed quantitative description have also been presented.
