The extraction of zinc(II) with tributyl phosphate and then the stripping of zinc(II) from loaded TBP with water was studied in a laboratory mixer settler. It was stated that zinc(II) can be effectively extracted. with tributyl phosphate pure or diluted with kerosene. Mathematical model of the process taking into account mass transfer kinetics was elaborated and verified. The model fitted well the experimental data.
