Analysis of destruction of ceramic-like materials during drying
The main goal of the paper is the theoretical and experimental study of possible cracking of saturated capillary-porous materials during drying. The distribution and evolution of stresses in dried products are analyzed basing on mechanistic model of drying. Then, basing on the acoustic emission method, the increase in the intensity and energy of acoustic signals from real drying processes is employed to identify destruction of dried materials due toe stresses.
