Effect of synthesis gas composition on the yield of higher aliphatic alcohols
Kinetic investigation on the synthesis of a mixture of methanol and higher aliphatic alcohols from the synthesis gas has been conducted in an experimental high pressure gradientless reactor. A new K-doped Cu-Zn composite catalyst has been prepared. The important effect of initial hydrogen concentration in the syngas on the yield of higher aliphatic alcohols was found. The kinetic equation was described in a simple power law form.
