Effect of temperature on SO2 solubility in poly-glycol dimethyl ethers
Temperature dependence of SO2 solubility in poly(4,5,6)ethylene glycol dimethyl ethers was elaborated for VLE measurements, made in the range of 17-35 degreesC, using gas-bubbler technique. Agreement between own data in (SO2+N2)-ether system and literature VLE for binary SO2-TETRA was shown. Measured SO2 solubility data in PENTA-glyme and HEXA-glyme together with data for other homologues, known also from literature, enabled checking the Prausnitz-O'Connell model for SO2 solubility prediction in mixed solvent; and technical absorption process simulation.
