Kinetics of controlled gentamycin release from a chitosan matrix
Methods of formation of chitosan hydrogel structures containing gentamycin and the rates of its release in time are discussed in the paper. Kinetics of the release depends on the way it was introduced. The processes are described by a model proposed by the authors in which mass transport mechanism is described by the effective coefficient of diffusion through chitosan structure. The coefficient depends on the local concentration of a diffusing component at appropriately high power (n = 1-17).
