CFD modelling of transitional boundary flows in a Rushton turbine stirred vessel
The CFD modelling of the transitional momentum transfer in a stirred vessel has been presented. Three turbulence models, i.e. the standard k-epsilon and two low Re k-omega models have been used in the modelling. The simulated values of the tangential and axial mean velocity components along with the kinetic energy of turbulence have been compared with the corresponding experimental data from LDA.
