Chaos in chemical reaction with catalyst deactivation
Chaotic and oscillatory behaviour in a continuous stirred reactor with first-order exothermic chemical reaction in a deactivating catalyst particle is presented in this paper. The influence of characteristic parameters describing catalyst deactivation on chaotic behaviour is shown. The areas of chaotic behaviour are determined. The trajectories of catalyst temperature for chaotic and non-chaotic areas are shown.
