Mathematical modelling of a three-dimensional PEM fuel cell
Three-dimensional mathematical model of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell has been presented. The model accounts for electrochemical reactions on both anode and cathode catalyst layers and assumes isothermal and steady-state conditions. This three-dimensional analysis allows us to account for the effect of the porous diffusion layers and various water transport mechanisms in the membrane and their impact on current density distributions.
