The hydrodynamics of cocurrent gas and liquid flow through a packed bed. modelling by means of computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
The aim of the present study is to simulate cocurrent gas and liquid flow through a packed bed in the continuous gas flow regime using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The computational simulation resulted in gas pressure drop in the bed, volume fraction distribution of a given phase along the packing and its mean value in the reactor. The comparative basis for the simulation was the experimental data base.
