Equilibrium in Cu(II) and Ag(I) ion adsorption on chitosan microgranules formed in supercritical drying conditions
The adsorption of Cu(II) and Ag(I) ions on microgranules formed by drying in supercritical conditions was investigated. Sorption isotherms were described by the Langmuir, Langmuir-Freundlich, Redlich-Peterson, Dubinin-Radushkevich, modified Dubinin-Radushkevich and Toth equations. Sorption capacity of Cu(II) lies in the range from 2.6 to 2.3 mmol/g(chitosan) and that of Ag(I) is 2.2 mmol/g(chitosan), Adsorption process can be interpreted in terms of the theory of volumetric filling of micropores, and the adsorption surface has a heterogeneous character.
