Densities, isothermal compressibilities, a id isobaric thermal expansivities of hexan-2-ol, octan-1-ol, and decan-1-ol from (313 to 363) K and pressures up to 22 MPa
Compressed liquid densities of hexan-2-ol, octan-1-ol, and decan-1-ol were measured from (313 to 363) K and pressures up to 22 MPa. A vibrating tube densimeter was used to obtain the experimental densities. The uncertainty is estimated to be better than +/- 0.20 kg.m(-3) for the experimental compressed liquid densities in the whole range of reported data. The experimental data were correlated using a short volume explicit equation of 5 parameters and the 11-parameter Benedict-Webb-Rubin-Starling equation of state (BWRS EoS). Comparisons with literature data were made for octan-1-ol and decan-1-ol. Densities of hexan-2-ol at high pressure were not found in the literature. Isothermal compressibilities and isobaric thermal expansivities were calculated using the 5-parameter equation.
