Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium Data and Predictive Correlations for the Carbon Dioxide-Dimethyl Carbonate Binary Mixture
Mixture critical points and liquid-phase density, component concentration, and volume expansion were measured for the carbon dioxide dimethyl carbonate binary mixture at temperatures between (310 and 423) K [(37 to 150) degrees C] and pressures between (1.1 and 14.4) MPa. Data were correlated well by the Redlich-Kwong-Aspen equation of state as well as several empirical engineering correlations. Importantly, the experimental and modeling procedures outlined in this work may be adapted to other carbon dioxide-liquid binary mixtures and used to facilitate the design of CO(2)-based reaction and separation processes.
