Ti(IV), Cr(III), Mn(II), and Ni(II) Complexes of the Norfloxacin Antibiotic Drug: Spectroscopic and Thermal Characterizations
Eleven new complexes of norfloxacin (HL) with the formulas [Ti(HL)(Cl)(4)], [Cr(2)(L)(2)(CO(3))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], [Cr(HL)(2)(Cl)(2)]center dot 3H(2)O,[Cr(HL)(2)(AcO)(2)]AcO2H(2)O,[Cr(2)(HL)(2)(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)41SO4, [Mn(L)2(F120)7], [Mn(HL)2(C1),1, I'Mn(HL),(AcO)2], INi(HL)?(C1)21, [Ni(HL)2(504)"1, and [Ni(HL)2(Ac0)711 have been synthesized and studied using spectroscopic and thermal analysis techniques. The thermal decomposition processes of these complexes are discussed. The activation energies, 1E*, the pre-exponential factor, A, the entropies, Delta S*, enthalpies, Delta H*, and Gibbs energies, Delta G*, of the thermal decomposition reactions have been derived from thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermogravimetric (DTG) curves. Using the Coats Redfern and Horowitz Metzeger methods, kinetic analysis of the thermogravimetric data is performed.
