Microstructure and Microwave Dielectric Properties of the Li2CO3-Added Sr2V2O7 Ceramics
The addition of Li2CO3 to Sr2V2O7 ceramics decreased their sintering temperature and time. A dense microstructure was developed for the specimens sintered at 750 degrees-850 degrees C due to the melting of Li2CO3 during the sintering. For the specimens sintered at 800 degrees C, the grain size was considerably increased when the Li2CO3 content exceeded 1.0 mol%. The Q x f value was increased by the Li2CO3 addition due to the increased density and grain size. In particular, a high Q x f value of 73 800 GHz with epsilon(r) and tau(f) values of 9.94 and -28.8 ppm/degrees C, respectively, was obtained for the specimen containing 3.0 mol% Li2CO3 sintered at 800 degrees C for 2h.
