Fabrication of a Photocatalytic Ceramic by Doping Si-, P-, and Zr-Modified TiO2 Nanopowders in Glaze
A novel method was developed to prepare photocatalytic ceramics with modified TiO2 and low-temperature glaze. Si-, P-, and Zr-modified TiO2 nanopowders were synthesized through sol-gel and hydrothermal methods in advance. Photocatalytic ceramics were prepared by doping the modified TiO2 in the glaze. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and transmission electron microscope were used to characterize the as-synthesized TiO2 powders and photocatalytic ceramics. Experimental results showed that Si, P, and Zr modification could effectively improve the thermal stability of anatase TiO2. The prepared photocatalytic ceramics based on the modified TiO2 exhibited high photocatalytic activity.
