Fabrication of Highly Transmitting LaGdHf2O7 Ceramics
Transparent LaGdHf2O7 ceramic was successfully prepared by reactive sintering using vacuum sintering at 1900 degrees C for 6 h. The resultant ceramic has an in-line transmittance of 74% at 1100 nm and the density was measured to be 8.37 g/cm(3). The average grain size was about 10 mu m with uniform structure.
