Ca(OH)(2)/diatomaceous earth sorbents for HCl removal in a bag filter reactor
The HCl removal in a bag filter reactor has been studied using slurried Ca(OH)(2)/diatomaceous earth (DE) sorbents. The sorbents have much higher utilization of Ca(OH)(2) than that of Ca(OH)(2)/fly ash (FA) or pure Ca(OH)(2) sorbents. The addition of DE which contains SiO2 can promote the reactivity of Ca(OH)(2) with HCl. The sorbent with a Ca(OH)(2)/DE weight ratio of 70:30 had the highest HCl removal.
