Bubble characteristics and fluctuation of pressure and particle bed in two-dimensional pulsated fluidized bed
A pulsated fluidized bed was operated with two sequential periods an on-period when fluidization air was inzecced, and an off-period when it was not. Bubble characteristics, pressure drop and bed expansion height were evaluated for a two-dimensional bed. Wich a long pulse cycle, inwhich a static bed is formed in the off-period, a higher pressure drop, bed expansion height and a lower aspect ratio were obtained than with a short pulse cycle. This is because the void fraction of the particle bed is lower at the start of injection of the fluidization air.
