Flexural elasticity plus longitudinal rigidity
Corrugated pipes are used above all because of their high flexibility. Internal pressures can, however, bring about a change in length, in some cases significantly. Dynamic pressure tends to cause a pulsating movement of the pipe, which is a major disadvantage in many applications. An important modification to the design of the corrugated structure now makes it possible to eliminate this disadvantage without foregoing any flexural elasticity.
