Multi-cavity moulds with different cavities require filling to end simultaneously in all the moulds if high-quality moulded parts are to he obtained. This can he achieved through step-by-step modification of the diameter and/or lengths of the distribution runner with the aid of an injection moulding simulation. The balanced state achieved for the mould, however depends on the specific technological parameters and the moulding compound employed and is thus not universal.
