WEAR PROTECTION. PVD coatings are already used to a large extent in mouldmaking. Depending on the type of coating, they can provide improved protection against wear, better part release characteristics or lower friction in ejector guide bushings. In a new systematic approach, PVD coatings have been investigated with regard to their suitability for use in plasticising units.
