High photocatalytic activity La2Ti2O7 was synthesized by a novel mineralization polymerizable complex (MPC) method. Compared with La2Ti2O7 prepared by polymerizable complex (PC) method, MPC-La2Ti2O7 showed larger surface areas, higher crystallization and more uniform morphology. These factors resulted in a dramatic improvement of its photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution. The photocatalytic activity of MPC-La2Ti2O7 was about three times higher than that of PC-La2Ti2O7. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
