Benchmarking boiler tube failures - Part 1
Boiler tube failures continue to be the leading cause of downtime for steam power plants. That shouldn't be a surprise; a typical steam generator has miles of tubes that operate at high temperatures and pressures. Are your experiences comparable to those of your peers? Could you learn something from tube-leak benchmarking data that could improve the operation of your plant? The EUCG recently completed a boiler-tube failure study that is available only to its members. But POWER has been given exclusive access to some of the results, which you may find fascinating.
