Helping hands: Designing products for accessibility
A new requirement is emerging in product design: accessibility. Major end-users, primarily government but also some OEMs, are evaluating the product needs of both an aging population and the disabled, and mandating design features that help individuals in these categories use products safely and effectively. Experts predict that accessibility will soon be as important a feature of product design as environmental compatibility and energy efficiency.
