Cutting energy waste and increasing efficiency don't necessarily require major changes
Reducing energy use during plastics processing is obviously a good idea, especially when one considers the widespread desire to lower power-plant emissions. But waste-energy reduction is also part of the broader strategy of lean manufacturing, a methodology that some say is still underused in the plastics industry. This article focuses on energy-saving ideas that don't require totally retooling an operation.
