Statistical analysis of regional variation in the chemical composition of Eurasian crude oils
Regional variations in the sulfur, resin, and paraffin contents and in the fractions of crude oils were studied by the statistical and cluster analysis methods. The data used in the treatment were obtained from the petroleum chemistry database which includes at present more than 8000 items of physicochemical and geological information on all basic petroleum basins of Eurasia. Meridian and latitudinal dependences were determined for the aforementioned parameters of petroleum composition. Regional variation in the properties of crude oils by the combined properties: sulfur and resin content: sulfur and asphaltene content. and sulfur. resin, and asphaltene content was studied. The results of studies are charted in a computer map of Eurasia.
