New in fullerene chemistry (a review)
The most important developments in fullerene chemistry reported in 1998-1999 are classified and summarized. This primarily concerns C-60 and C-70-C-84 chemistry. Different types of chemical reactions of fullerenes (hydrogenation, oxidation, halogenation, addition, and photochemical reactions) are considered, and petrochemical aspects of fullerene chemistry are elucidated. Data on the supramolecular chemistry of fullerenes and on the synthesis of fullerene-containing polymers and composites are presented.
