The state of the art of developing the mechanisms and kinetics of plasma-chemical processes, as well as the current status of and prospects for industrial production of petrochemicals and hydrogen by the processing of hydrocarbons in quasi-equilibrium and nonequilibrium plasmas, are surveyed.
