Effects of cyclic loading and various test conditions in an uniaxial tester
The effect of cyclic loading during consolidation in an uniaxial tester is investigated. The effect seems to be a reduction of the compressive strength of BCR limestone powder, except for consolidation stresses close to the stress level of the cyclic loading. The larger the consolidation stress level is, the more the compressive strength is reduced compared to standard consolidation without cycling. The velocity of the piston under consolidation, as well as the number of cycles and at what stress level the cycling took place, also affect the compressive strength.
