Reservoir outlet works for water supply.
The outlet works of a reservoir are the prime means by which the reservoir satisfies its required purpose and are the main interface with the owner's operational staff. This paper reviews the function of outlet systems from water supply reservoirs. Options that have been adopted at reservoirs in the UK over the past 50 years are reviewed and some conclusions and recommendations on the design of outlet works are made.
