Examination of stability of the coagulative latex systems comprising acrylic polymers
Stability investigations of a latex systems stabilised by various macrocyclics are presented. Employed were acrylic polyelectrolytes such as acrylic or methacrylic acid copolymers with acrylic or methacrylic amides and water soluble polyurethanes. Factor defining the stability of latex system is the value of a hidden or evident coagulation threshold corresponding to the reaction of ferric ions with carboxyl groups of a stabiliser macromolecule. Formation conditions were determined for acrylic polyelectrolyte adsorption layers on latex particles of ethyl polyacrylate and ethyl polymethacrylate and their influence on the stability of dispersive systems formed.
