Ammonolytic utilization of waste materials
A review with 36 refs. covering ammonolysis fundamentals and ammonolytic conversion of (1) 1,2-di- and (ii) 1,2,3-trichloropropanes to yield (i) 1,2-diaminopropane, chloropropenes and polypropylenepolyamines, and (ii) bis(2-chloroallyl)amine; ammonolysis of 2-chlorovinyldichloroarsine, di(2-chlorovinyl)-chloroarsine and tri-(2-chlorovinyl)arsine, waste nylons 6 and 6.6, waste PET, and (55:45 w/w) SO3-SO2ClOH smoke-formed to yield various useful compounds. Ammonolysis is a universal method, a good alternative to incineration, and its environmental impact is low.
