Catalysis in environmental protection
A review with 50 refs. covering catalyzed dechlorination including oxidative destruction of chlorine-containing compounds, catalyzed dehydrochlorination of chlorinated aliphatics, aromatics, and chlorofluorohydrocarbons, catalyzed depolymerization of PE, degradation of PS and PVC, catalyzed liquefaction of waste rubber, removal of impurities from aqueous solutions like reduction of nitrites and nitrates, oxidation of phenol and phenol derivatives, and oxidation of organic compounds in aqueous solutions with the aid of catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide.
