Diffusivity predictions for binary liquid systems
Several models are available in the literature for the prediction of diffusion coefficients in binary systems. Usually they are based on many simplifying assumptions or require the knowledge of the parameters characteristic for the diffusing component The scope of the paper was to apply the own model for the prediction of the diffusion coefficients in binary systems. The model is based on the hydrodynamical theory of diffusion and on the Kozeny - Carman theory of the flow through granular media. It was verified against data for 10 binary systems with ideal and strongly non-ideal behaviours. The accuracy of predictions was within +/- 10%.
