Power characteristics of mixing a non-Newtonian liquid with a dispersing disc stirrer
Three dispersing disc stirrers (diam. 52, 75 and 98 mm) with slanting blades (inclination angle 22.5 degrees, 24.2 degrees and 20,0 degrees) were used for mixing an aq. soln. of a polymer to det. the mixing power characteristics of the stirrers. A dimensionless equation for Euler no. was derived by correlation anal. from Reynolds no. and stirrer and mixer sizes.
