Five case studies on optimization and scale-up of the pharmaceutical syntheses recently developed were presented. Details of methodol. approach were given for the syntheses of aripiprazole and pramipexole, while the syntheses of lamotrigine, pioglitazone and anthracycline sugar synthon were outlined only.
