Hydrogen electrosorption on the carbon-metal composite electrodes
Ni-contg. carbogels were prepd. by polycondensation of resorcinol with CH(2)O in aq. soln. in presence of Na(2)CO(3) or C(16)H(33)Me(3)NBr and Ni(OAc)(2) dried at 100 degrees C for 3 h, extd. with Me(2)Co to remove H(2)O and then carbonized under N at 900 degrees C for 3 h. The resulted carbogels contained up to 15% Ni. They were ground and used for prepn. of C electrodes studied then for electrosorption of H by cyclic voltametry at -1.1 V to 0.6 V The cathode current at -1.1 V increased quite 6 times when the Ni content in the carbogels was increased, exp. when the carbogels were prepd. in presence of Na(2)CO(3).
