New aspects of alkylation of arylacetonitriles under phase-transfer catalysis conditions
A review, with about 30 refs., of the phase transfer alkylations, dialkylations and cycloalkylations of arylacetonitriles with the secondary alkyl bromides, 1,2-dihaloethanes and 1,3-dihalopropanes. The increase of the concn. of aq. KOH solns. from 50% up to 60-75% resulted in an increase of the product yield and purity.
