Biological deodorization of organic fertilizers
Poultry manure from 3 poultry farms was deodorized by active microorganisms under lab. conditions. The consortium of active organisms contained strains of subtilis, B. licheniformis, B. megaterium, B. brevis, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Micrococcus sp. and Leuconostoc mesenteroides. The consortium was applied as aq. suspension including 2,35 x 10(9) cfu/kg of deodorized manure. More than 90% of odorous compds. were removed after 4 days of the deodorization. Removal of H(2)S, thiols and methylamines, as well as of CH(2)O, Me(2)CHCOOH and hydrocarbons was obsd.
