Hydrogenated (CH(2)=CH)(2)/CH(2)=CHCN elastomer (HNBR) (CH(2)=CHCN content 34%) was vulcanized with (PhCMe(2)O)(2) after addn. of unsatd. acids-modified nanosized ZnO. The modification of ZnO resulted in increasing the crosslinking d. and tensile strength of the HNBR vulcanizates. The highest mech. strength of the vulcanized HNBR was obsd. when it contained MeCH=CHCOOH-modified ZnO. The aq. dispersions of modified ZnO showed increased zeta potential values in the whole pH range.
