New perovskite-type Sr(Fe1-xCux)O3-sigma materials for oxygen transfer in chemical looping
Four Sr(Fe1-xCux)O3-sigma (x = 0 to 1) perovskite-type solids were prepd. by sintering Fe2O3, CuO and SrCO3 at 700 degrees C for 20 h, analyzed for phase compn., melting temp., sp. surface, grain size distribution and surface morphol. and then studied for O transport ability in 1-5 oxidn.-redn. cycles by thermogravimetry at 600-800 degrees C. Synthetic air and 3% H-2-Ar mixt. were used for oxidn. and redn., resp. The solid showed high O-2 transport ability (4.22-8.08%), high melting temp. (above 1100 degrees C), and low agglomeration tendency. The O-2 transport ability increased with increasing the Cu content in the solids.
