trans,trans-Farnesol was converted to its 6 derivatives including 3 gamma-lactones with an isoprenoid substituent, were synthesized and tested for antifeedant activity against insect storage pests (adults of the grain weevil, adults and larvae of the confused flour beetle, larvae of the khapra beetle and adults and larvae of the lesser mealworm). The studied compds. were good agents for controlling confused flour beetle population.
