Photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide with methane
Pt and Ni were deposited on SiO(2) and TiO(2) substrates by wet impregnation and used as photocatalysts for dry CO(2) reforming of MeH in Ar at 430-510 degrees C under UV irradn. (max. emission at wave length 386 nm). The TiO(2)-supported catalysts showed higher CO(2) adsorption capacity than the SiO(2)-supported ones. The Ni catalysts showed higher activity than the Pt ones independently on the support used. No substantial effect of the catalyst photoactivation was obsd.
